Scott-Morris Funeral Home is a family-owned and operated firm that has been serving Nocona area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.
W.L. Scott's family came to Nocona in the early 1900s. At first, W.L. ran the local hardware store and funeral home from the same building. Later, the house was remodeled into the funeral home, and the two businesses were separated. Mr. Howard Morris came to work for W.L. in 1950, and he made his family’s home on the second floor of the funeral home, where he still lives today.
John Morris, son of Howard Morris, was born and raised in Nocona, and like his father, he went to school to earn a degree in mortuary science. John and his wife, Kimberly, married in January 1990. Kimberly attended school in Dallas (as did John), and she graduated in 1995. After graduation, John and Kimberly began working for Scott-Morris Funeral Home. Eventually, Kimberly became Funeral Director in Charge, and she and John became the owners.
At Scott-Morris Funeral Home, we concentrate our services on our community, but many, many times, we have families from afar who call on us. It is an honor to serve families and put our motto to use: "Serving our Community with Dignity." Many families who call on us have done so for many generations, and they consider us their family. We feel blessed to be in that role. We can offer many types of funerals - cremation and even donation to science - if that is what is desired. We strive to provide personal service and give ourselves to the families who need us.
Our staff is here to provide you with excellent care and service during your time of loss. Get to know the people who will help you through the planning process.
