Wanda Faye Long

Wanda Faye Long, 68 of Nocona, passed away Thanksgiving evening, Thursday, November 24th, 2016 in Nocona. Wanda was born February 24th, 1948 in Grandfield, OK to Henry James Long and Audrey (Hargrove) Long. Wanda was preceded in death by both of her parents as well as her son, Tony Peterson. Wanda is survived by her daughter Dee Dee Sandoval and husband Tony of Nocona, her sister Barbara Burch, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Wanda had lived in and around Nocona since moving here from Ojai California in 1992. Wanda was a beautician her entire adult life, and many in Nocona had her do their hair, even if she occasionally had to remind them that she was, "a beautician, not a magician!" Wanda loved her family and loved supporting her grandchildren - she was definitely their biggest fan. She was constantly at the their baseball and softball games, along with anything else they competed in. She loved them, loved their friends, and loved investing in their lives. Her smile, excitement, and love of life will be deeply missed. Wanda's memorial service will be Tuesday, November 29th under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home with Shelly McNew officiating.
