Sue Whatley

Carolyn Sue Whatley "Nanny Sue" left this earth on June 9th, 2020 in Nocona, TX. Born January 21, 1943 to Ed and Mable Bales, she married Bobby Dean Whatley "Coach Bob" on January 3, 1959. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Sue Morrow and son-in-law Lonnie Morrow of Lake Nocona; son Barry Whatley and daughter-in-law Misty Whatley of Sanger, TX, two brothers, Randy Bales of Denton, TX, and Eddie Bales of Wichita Falls, TX, nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Nanny Sue was a staple in the Nocona community for many years. Working as a teacher's aide at Nocona Elementary or working the ticket gate at the local sporting events, Nanny Sue always wanted to surround herself with children. She was a selfless soul who would help anybody in need. She was loved by many.
Nanny Sue's Memorial Service will be officiated by her grandson, Ricky Johnson and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nocona General Hospital Auxiliary or to Solaris Hospice.
