Rossie worked for Scott-Morris Hardware Store as the bookkeeper for15 years, until her health would no longer allow it. in 1993 she was instrumental in starting the Nocona Cemetery Association, where she began raising money and support to improve the cemetery. the Association created Fun Day, and she spent many hours making that a event to be proud of. in 2005 the Nocona Chamber of Commerce awarded her Nocona's Volunteer of the Year. .
