Rosemary Hill Vickery passed from this life on Monday, November 5, 2018 in Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 86. Mrs. Vickery was born in Spanish Fort, Texas on November 12, 1931 to Erskin and Helen Linton Hill.
Rosemary moved to Nocona in 1939. She grew up here and graduated from Nocona High School in 1949. While attending Nocona High she played volleyball and basketball.
Rosemary worked for the Nocona Boot Company in the early 1950's and was one of the first librarians at the Nocona Public Library in the 1970's. Ms. Vickery worked for the Texas Department of Transportation as a secretary and retired in 1994. Shortly after her retirement she had the opportunity to visit the Holy Land. One of her fondest memories of that trip was being able to observe a moment of silence in the same prison cell that Jesus had been held captive in.
Ms. Vickery was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church and also enjoyed fellowship at Faith Baptist in Wichita Falls when she moved there in 2010.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, husband Samuel Donald Vickery and five brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her children Donna Lemons and husband Larry, Robert Vickery, Jayne McCall and husband Mark McCall Sr., and Cathy Uselton, nine grandchildren: Aaron Lemons and wife Christy, of Glen Rose, Meredith Mitchell and husband Allen of Lubbock, Texas, Neil Lemons of Irving, Texas, Alexandria Burlison and husband Ryan of Wichita Falls, Texas, Rachel McCall of Denton, Texas, Holt Uselton and wife Rachel of New Bern North Carolina, Mary C. McCall of Denton, Texas, Mark McCall, Jr. of Arlington, Texas and Olivia Espinosa and husband Steven of Nocona, Texas; 17 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services have been entrusted to Scott-Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, November 9, 2018, 12:30-1:30 at Bethel Baptist Church with services following at 2:00 PM. Dale Berry and Dave Woodbury will be officiating. Interment will follow at Nocona Cemetery.
