Phyllis Leslie Berryman of Nocona, TX joined her heavenly father on April 15, 2016. She was born in Air Base City, NM (10 miles west of Hobbs, NM) on September 13, 1949. She spent her childhood in Kermit, TX. From there she moved with her family to Buffalo Springs Lake in Lubbock, TX where she lived for many years and became an avid water skier. Phyllis met the love of her life, James, in 1987. They were married in Midland, TX in 1996 and resided there until 2010. A true love story, they recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Professionally, Phyllis was on the state board of the Texas Apartment Association where she won many awards and received recognition in her career as an apartment manager. She also traveled the world as a travel agent. She loved adventure, laughter, and most of all her family. Her caring spirit was second to none and she was always willing to help in any situation. Phyllis also loved good food and socializing; enjoyed going to the movies, out to eat, traveling, and had an infectious smile that could light up a room. She leaves her beloved husband, James Berryman of Nocona; son BIll Warren of Big Spring, daughter JJ Denbow of Spicewood, and step sons, Jim Berryman of Canton, PA, and Bobby Berryman of South Padre Island, TX. She also leaves siblings Alex Blocker, Clay Hodges, Cheryl Mclure, Marsha Hodges and Matthew Hodges. She has 12 nieces and nephews, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents Tommy Blocker and Johnnie and Buddy Hodges. Memorial services were held at Nocona Hills Community Church on Monday 04/18/2016 at 11AM with burial following at Shady Grove Cemetery.
