Preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, John Royce Tompkins, her parents Gene and Clara Cook, a daughter Betty Carminati, and a grandson Jason Ray Tompkins. Funeral Service: Wednesday May 9th, 2012 at 10:30 am Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Berry Officiating Interment following in Montague Cemetery. Family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 7 pm. in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bethel Baptist Church. Opal was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, she provided child Care in her home for 20 years, where she helped raise many young people, during that time, all of whom she loved. . Funeral is under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home
