Marion Gayle Hancock "picked up her bed and walked" into the presence of the Lord on September 8th, 2017 after a short but brave battle with cancer. Marion's devotion to her family, friends, and firm belief in God supported her during the struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Marion was born to the late Bob and Peggy Gentry on November 8, 1956. She was immersed into a Christian Community that would be her lifelong support from an early age.
Marion graduated from Rider High School in 1975. She was blessed with a loving family, which included her husband John Hancock of Nocona and two daughters: Brandy Contreras and husband Alo of Wichita Falls and Courtney Copeland and husband Jimmy of Wichita Falls, four grandchildren, Vanson, Kycelynn, Kynlee, and Truitt. She is also survived by her grandmother Earlene Huddleston, brother Larry Gentry, aunt Penny Yarbro, cousins Tammy Robertson and Jeff Terry, nieces Amy Likins, Jill Cartwright, and Beth Brashear. Marion's family would also like to thank Joe Tom and Valerie Hancock, Sam Howard, Donna Russell, Lee Ann Cervantes, Penny Yarbro, and Amy Hancock for their special love and care for Marion.
Marion's family will receive visitors Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 at Scott-Morris Funeral Home in Nocona. Marion's funeral will be Thursday, September 14th at 2:00 PM at Abundant Life Pentecostal Church in Nocona.
In lieu of flowers, please share donations with Hospice of Wichita Falls or Kindred Hospice.
