Mariano Cordero

Mariano Cordero Lopez, of Montague, passed away June 15th, 2017 in Nocona at the age of 62. Mariano was born January 17th, 1955 to Norberto Gonzalez Cordero and Modesta Cordero Lopez in El Refugio C.D. Fernandez San Luis Potosi, Mexico. On January 31, 1976, he married Antonia Picena Veyra, and they had two sons, Eduardo Cordero and Mariano Cordero, Jr. Mariano was preceded in death by both of his parents as well as his brothers Adolfo Cordero and Norberto Cordero, Jr.
Mariano is survived by his wife Antonia Cordero Picena; his sons Eduardo and wife Shayne Cordero of Bowie, and Mariano and wife Amber Cordero of Nocona; brothers Raul and wife Fabiola, Ruben and wife Antonia, Juaquin and wife Abby, all of Corpus Christi, and Telberto and wife Lena, as well as sister Yolanda and husband Francisco Robles, of El Refugio C.D. Fernandez San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
Mariano Cordero was a beloved husband, father, brother, and son. He was a hardworking, loyal, and devoted family man who put his wonderful wife Antonia and his sons Eduardo and Mariano, Jr. before all else. The love and values he instilled in his family will carry on for generations. This man made himself available for anyone in need and was always quick with a helping hand. God has opened the gates of heaven to welcome this wonderful man. He is cherished and will be missed, but he will continue to watch over and protect all those he loved so dearly.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 19th at St. William's Catholic Church, Montague. Rosary service will be Sunday, June 18th at 6:00 PM at Scott-Morris Funeral Home in Nocona.
