Margarete Joyce West

Margarete Joyce West of Nocona passed from this life October 30th, 2020 at the age of 81. Joyce was born November 19th, 1938 in Gorman, TX to D.L. and Willoughby Bassett. She met Fred West, and the two married in 1956.
Joyce and Fred had enjoyed 59 years of faithful loving marriage when Fred passed away in 2015. Joyce was also preceded in death by her grandson Luke West, and sisters Barbara Davis and Judy Wren.
Joyce is survived by her sister Linda Kinard of Anna; sons Daylon West and wife Kim of Graford, Rusty West, M.D. and wife Sabrina of Nocona, and Kelly West and wife Kelly Jo of Cisco; grandchildren Cara Fry and husband Travis, R.C. West and wife Josie, Clayton Oliver and wife Kay Leigh, Chris Oliver and wife Kayleigh, Chelsea Bond and husband Weston, Katy Parsons and husband Joel, Kayla Whitlock and husband Colby, Kelsie Wagner and husband Aaron, and Jacob West and wife Nicole; 18 great-grandchildren (with two more on the way!), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a Christian homemaker who loved football, especially high school football. She was the ultimate coach's wife. She was the wife of a church elder, and a matriarch at Nocona Church of Christ. As a conservative Republican she believed you should discuss both religion and politics. Mostly she was a foot-washing servant in the cause of King Jesus to the glory of God.
The celebration of Joyce's life will be Sunday, November 1, 2:00 PM at Nocona Church of Christ, with Dale Scott and Austin Wright officiating, under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nocona Church of Christ Youth Fund or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org).
We miss Joyce, but we know she has gone on to the reward King Jesus has prepared for her.
