Lula Bell Langford

February 26, 1943 — April 9, 2025

Lula Bell Langford, passed from this life on April 9, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Lula was born on February 26, 1943, in Saint Jo, Texas, to Ollie Lee King and Loretta Charlotte King. Lula leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and devotion that will forever be cherished.

Lula was known for her unwavering dedication to family as her first priority and greatest love. She was a loving wife to her late husband, Pete Langford for 56 years before he passed away, and was a nurturing mother to her children all their lives. Her proudest accomplishments came through the love she poured into her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She is survived by her daughter, LaMesia Howard (and husband Jim) of Gainesville; her son, Ollie Wayne "Lee" Langford (and his partner Speedy Dickerson) of Iowa Park; her brother, Johnny King and his wife Ginger of Runaway Bay; and her cherished grandchildren, James "Jamie" Howard (and wife Emily) and Jared Howard, along with her great-grandchildren, Joel and Ben Howard. She will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Over the years, Lula contributed to her community in various ways, including her work as a switchboard operator at Nocona Boot Company and her ventures in baking. She delighted in baking cakes for birthdays and weddings and ran a wedding service that brought joy to many. She and Pete could often be seen driving all over in their two-tone station wagon delivering her cakes. Lula also held positions at Ben Franklin and at Lipscomb's, showcasing her remarkable adaptability and creativity. Her greatest, proudest job was serving as a devoted, loving homemaker.

A longtime member of the Nocona Church of Christ as well as an attendee of the Saint Jo Church of Christ, she also dedicated her time to teaching Sunday School, sharing her passion for faith with God's precious children.

Her artistic flair shone through in her jewelry making and crafts, and her love for animals was evident as she spoiled her dogs. A true outdoor enthusiast, Lula enjoyed camping and especially cherished fishing, creating lasting memories with family and friends amidst nature's beauty.

Lula's memorial service will be held on May 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the gazebo at Nocona Cemetery, located at 1605 West Pine Street, Nocona, TX 76255, under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home. She will be remembered for her boundless love, artistic spirit, and the warmth she brought into the lives of all who knew her. As we bid farewell to Lula Bell Langford, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by devotion, joy, and an enduring legacy of love.
