Katherine Joan Hare

Katherine Joan Hare passed from this life Friday, May 15, 2020 at the age of 88. Katherine was born February 7, 1932 in Paris, IL to Clarence and Katherine McCrocklin. Katherine met Delbie Hare, and the two married January 1, 1964.
Katherine's greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was sweet and kind to all those around her. Even nurses who cared for Katherine often remarked about how kind she was. And she always had a smile! Katherine was no stranger to struggle; over the years she suffered a fractured neck, and she survived cancer twice. Even in times of pain, frustration, stress, and fear, Katherine kept her smile.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband Delbie Hare, sister Betty Gale, brothers Jack McCrocklin, Robert McCrocklin, and Lyle McCrocklin; her daughter Phyllis Ann McGuinn, and her grandson David Lee Hare, Jr.
Katherine is survived by eight children: Robert McGuinn of Cartwright, OK, Kathy Johnston and husband Phillip of Colbert, OK, Mickey McGuinn of Oakland City, IN, William McGuinn of Stillwater, Minnesota, David Hare of Cartwright, OK, Clarence Hare and wife Shirlene of Lynnville, IN, Mark McGuinn of Eustis, FL, and Jack McGuinn and wife Linda of Nocona; by her brother James McCrocklin of Paris, IL; and eighteen grandchildren: Christopher McGuinn, Robert James McGuinn, Jr., Sara McGuinn, Phillip Johnston, II, Mark Johnston, Anthony Johnston, Misty McGuinn, Jessie McGuinn, Trey McGuinn, Miranda McGuinn, Deanne Hare, Matthew Hare, Vannassa Hare, Nicholas McGuinn, Jonathan McGuinn, Tierney McGuinn, Joshua McGuinn, and Kimberly McGuinn. Katherine is also survived by one brother, James McCrocklin, and numerous great-grandchildren.
In life, Katherine touched all those who knew her. Her passing leaves an ache and longing to see her again, but also innumerable sweet memories of a life well lived.
Katherine's family will have a memorial service at a later date.
