June "Indian" Deardeuff of Duncan, OK passed from this life on June 7, 2022 in Duncan. He was 66 years old. Indian was born June 10, 1955 in Tahlequah, OK to William and Beulah Deardeuff.
Indian met Judy (Blevins) and the two fell in love. They married June 16, 1995 in Nocona, TX. The couple were longtime residents of Nocona, and Indian worked for the City of Nocona for many years.
Indian was a very social person. He couldn't go anywhere without running into a few friends! He always had to catch up with whatever was going on in their lives. Indian's friends will remember him as a great storyteller.
Indian's great love was his family. He loved and cherished them with all his heart. He was a doting father and grandfather, and he believed in keeping his family close.
In his free time, he enjoyed going to the rooster fights in Oklahoma. He loved camping at the lake with friends and family and barbecuing. Once he had a fire going, he wanted to cook everything he could find! He would say, "I still have a fire. Grab me something out of the freezer!" He even barbecued on New Year's, standing in the snow!
Indian's beliefs tended to be old fashioned. He liked things the way had always been. He was not big on technology. He fought to hang on to his flip phone when everyone else had long since moved on to smart phones. Even as old fashioned as he was, he excelled at accepting others, even if they were very different from him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Indian is survived by his children William Deardeuff, Shane Deardeuff, Carrie Duke, Lisa Keith, Billy Blevins, Les Covington, and Aubrey Wong; grandchildren Violet Deardeuff, William Ray Deardeuff, Amber Deardeuff, Collin Covington, Cameron Covington, Kai Wong, and Isabel Wong; and by his siblings George Deardeuff (and wife Ruth), Kenny Deardeuff, Billy Deardeuff (and wife Sue), and Anna Lee Posey.
Indian was one-of-a-kind, and he will be deeply missed. Indian's memorial service is set for Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Scott-Morris Funeral Home in Nocona.
