Joyce Evelyn Carver

Joyce Evelyn Carver passed from this life April 5, 2018 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 91. Joyce was born December 3, 1926 in Wichita Falls to John and Mary Sanders.
Joyce's life was full of joy, always singing and smiling everywhere she went. Much of her joy came from her love for her family, for God, and for all those around her. Her love of people led to her becoming a nurse. She served as a nurse for 45 years, tending to the health of generations of neighbors in Nocona, first at Major Hospital in Nocona and later at Nocona General Hospital when it opened. Her love for God led to her faithful membership at First Baptist Church for over 60 years. Many of these years, Joyce taught the four-and-five-year-olds class. Joyce's love for her family was always present, always apparent. Joyce found great joy in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred Carver, sister June Carver, and brother Bruce Sanders. Joyce is survived by her children Gary Carver, Tony Carver, and Janet Carver; grandsons Chris Carver, Dustin Carver, and Daron Carver, and seven great-grandchildren. Joyce has gone on to meet her Savior, and the love she shared in this life continues to shine through all who knew her.
Joyce's funeral will be Tuesday, April 10 at First Baptist Church in Nocona. Her visitation is Monday, April 9, 6:00 - 7:00 as Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
