Joy Diane Carter

Joy Diane Carter of Nocona passed away February 26th, 2016 in Dallas; she was 63. Joy was born September 29th, 1952 in Compton, California to Robert Daniel Wamsher and Joyce Elaine (Gantenbein) Wamsher. Joy was preceded in death by both of her parents and by her partner in life Jerry Steele. She is survived by her first husband and dear friend Loman Carter, Jr; her son Jason Carter and wife Christina; her daughter Krystal Carter and Grady Collins; and step-son Loman Carter and wife Angela; her brother Eddie Wamsher, sister Barbara Lindley; Grandchildren Daniel Carter and wife Karina, Alicia Carter, Marcus Carter, Ashlynn Helton, Katie Carter, Tyler Carter, and Taylor Carter; and one great granddaughter Maylee Carter, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Joy was a member of the Moose Lodge for over 30 years. Joy was Mom to everyone and will be dearly missed. Her memorial service will be Saturday, March 12 at 2:00PM at Christ Community Church in Nocona with Jonathan Brown officiating.
