Mary "Jo" O'Neal passed away peacefully on February 7, 2023 surrounded by her family.
A family graveside ceremony will be held February 11th, 2023 at Nocona Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jo's honor to your favorite charity or plant a flower garden in her memory.
"What is lovely never dies, but passes into another loveliness. Star-dust or sea-foam, Flower or winged air."
Jo was born in Nocona Texas on July 7th, 1924 to Sim and Sally Yancey. She graduated from Nocona High School and after the war, she married her loving husband of 59 years, Jerome. Jo would tell you her proudest achievement was her family and raising her four girls and later, spoiling her grandchildren and meeting her triplet great grandchildren. Jo loved people and was a surrogate mom to so many, she never met a stranger.
Jo was active in many organizations over the years and volunteering at Ridglea Presbyterian food bank. She loved her flower garden and bird houses and could turn any yard into a place of beauty.
We want to thank the staff at Mirabella Living & Memory Care for taking such good care of our mother over these last years and Harris Hospice Fort Worth in her final days.
Celebration of Life: The family invites you to join us for a come and go reception from 3:00-5:00 PM Saturday the 11th of February at 4711 Dexter Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76107.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, many siblings, her husband Jerome and grandson Luke.
Survivors: Brother, John Yancey of Granbury; daughters Sally Harvey (Perry), Cathy O'Neal (Cameron), Lisa Bauman, Amy Shivers (Robert) Grand children: Sara Gallivan (Travis), Madison Bauman and Landon Bauman. Great grandchildren: the Triplets.
