Jerry Dale Meyers

Jerry Dale Meyers, 79 of Mansfield passed from this life February 5th, 2019. Jerry was born September 25th, 1939 in Spanish Fort, TX to Henry and Dora Meyers. Jerry later attended the University of North Texas, where he received his Bachelor's Degree. An honest, hard worker, Jerry worked for himself building homes. Jerry met Judy (Hankins), and the two married September 25, 1984. Jerry was a devoted member of First Methodist Mansfield and volunteered at the church's ­thrift store. When he wasn't working or volunteering, Jerry enjoyed golfing, yardwork, and creating stained glass. Jerry's greatest joy, however, came in time spent with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Beatrice, brothers Dewey Meyers and Bill Meyers and sisters-in-law Alice Meyers and Gayle Meyers. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Judy, son Brad Baxter and wife Shawna; daughter Kristin Laird and husband Doug; daughter Teri Martino and husband Tony; son Kevin Meyers and wife Ellen; son Keith Meyers; grandchildren Lauren, Josh, Whitney, Jeremy, Ashlyn, Madison, and Ashley; great grandchildren Trenton, Savanna, Tymber, and Blayze; as well as his sister Anna Scruggs and his niece Cathy Walker and husband Jimmy.
Jerry is already deeply missed, but in his own words, "he's gone home."
Jerry's Celebration of Life will be Friday, February 8th, 10:00AM at First Methodist Mansfield with Terry Little officiating. Jerry's family will receive visitors Saturday, February 9th, 10:00AM at Scott-Morris Funeral Home in Nocona, TX before his graveside funeral also Saturday, February 9th, 12:00 noon at Nocona Cemetery, with the eulogy given by Brad Baxter. The family has entrusted arrangements to Scott-Morris Funeral Home of Nocona. If desired, memorial donations may be made in Jerry's honor to the American Cancer Society or the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
