James Leonard Scrogum

October 27, 1939 — November 14, 2015

Mr. James Leonard Scrogum born October 27, 1939 to Albert Newman Scrogum and Cecil Julia Eldred passed from this life on November 14, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Cecil, as well as his four sisters: Gene, Maurine, Lavelle (Rita), and Joanne. James is survived by his loving companion Katie Leavins as well as his children Lynn Scrogum and wife Jessica from Morrison, OK and daughter Chris Atkins and husband Alfred of Childress, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Aaron Scrogum, Rebekah Wilkinson and her husband Chris, Dakota Wilson, and Heather Scrogum, Jacqualyn and husband Justin Heinrich and Julia Atkins. He also has 7 great grandchildren: Brooklynn, Dakota James, Allie, Austin, Danna and Rhylynn. Mr. Scrogum was a certified Chrysler mechanic and worked for Bill Thomas Motors in Nocona for many years. He also worked for Parnell Motors in Wichita Falls. James loved to go to car shows, swap meets, and rebuilding old cars. He hung out with the "Good Times" motorcycle club. He also loved to dance. He was a joke-teller, story-teller, and an all around people person. He loved working on cars and being around his children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. Mr. Scrogum's service will be Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2PM at Scott-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with internment at Greenbriar Cemetery. in Nocona, Texas Clarence Russell will be officiating. Pallbearers are Alfred Atkins, Aaron Scrogum, Dakota Wilson, and Justin Heinrich and Chris Wilkinson.
