Jackie Neil Musick

Jack Musick, a beloved member of the Nocona community, passed away on November 19, 2024 at the age of 69. He leaves behind a legacy rich in love for nature, family, and community. Jack was born March 6, 1955 to Norman and Paula. Jack was born in Nocona and spent his early childhood here. He was a graduate of Marlow (Oklahoma) High School.
Jack was an avid outdoorsman who cherished every moment spent hunting, fishing, and noodling. His adventurous spirit led him to search for rattlesnakes and share his love for animals, particularly his devoted dog. Jack found peace and joy in the great outdoors, a reflection of his lively personality.
In addition to his outdoor pursuits, Jack was a dedicated community member who made a significant impact on the lives of many. He coached softball, sharing his passion for sports with young athletes, and built a sand volleyball court in his yard, providing a space for kids in the community to gather and play.
A die-hard Cowboys fan, Jack had a deep love for sports, which he enjoyed immensely. He also enjoyed playing golf, and he loved to travel.
Jack was active in the Nocona community for over 40 years, and everybody knew him. He worked for the Nocona Boot factory for 20 years. Jack worked for himself most of his life. He owned and operated Musick Garden Center in downtown Nocona for several years. He later had a landscaping business and served people all over Nocona.
Jack was preceded in death by his father Norman Musick, mother Paula Pennypacker, grandparents Jake Green, Pauline Green, and Faye Lynn, and step-dad Paul Pennypacker.
Jack is survived by his loving wife Kerrie Musick; daughter Melanie Covington (husband Brandon); grandchildren Jack Hogan, Blake Hogan, and Mattie Newsom; step-son Trevor Morgan; brother Walter Musick (wife Diane); sisters Deborah Musick and Julie Pennington (husband Bobby); step-mother Keitha Musick; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jack's family and friends will celebrate his memory Sunday December 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Nocona Hills Community Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Daume, Ashley Langley, Deryl James, Mike Shirley, Jack Hogan, Blake Hogan. Jack's vibrant spirit and infectious laughter will be sorely missed.
