Gene Pollard

Garnett Eugene "Gene" Pollard, 59 of Nocona, passed away Monday, July 10th at his home. Gene was born May 21, 1958 in Sacramento, CA to Beula Mae and Lee Pollard. Gene served in the United States Marine Corps, and for the last fifteen years had been a building maintenance engineer for W.L. Plastics in Bowie.
Gene was preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister Rosie.
Gene is survived by his wife Malinda, daughter Carrie and husband Bob Penton, son Robert Pollard, grandchildren Ben Penton, Abby Penton, and Garnett Pollard, as well as one sister, two brothers, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Gene loved his family deeply and loved spending time with them. Gene loved fishing and camping, and his family loved hearing his campfire stories. Gene also enjoyed guns and motorcycles and loved playing pranks on his family and friends. Gene took great joy in the years of his life, and knew absolute love and loyalty from his family. While they hurt to see him gone, they continue to rejoice in and remember a life well-lived!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rathgeber Hospitality House of Wichita Falls or Hospice of Wichita Falls. Gene's memorial service is Saturday, July 15th at 5:00PM at Scott-Morris Funeral Home in Nocona.
