David Ray Doshier was born January 30th, 1949 in Nocona, Texas to James and Velma Doshier, and he passed away on November 8th, 2017 in Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 68.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Jo Allison and Arlean Mitchell.
David grew up in the Starkey community between Saint Jo and Nocona. He graduated from Nocona High School and on June 27, 1969, married Brenda (Morris). The couple remained in Montague County and soon moved from town back to Starkey, right across the street from David's childhood home.
David loved God wholeheartedly, and lived his life to honor God. David was a faithful member of the Nocona Church of Christ, where he also served as song leader and sound technician.
David lived the quiet, consistent, hardworking life described in the Bible. He drove into Nocona each day for work, working at L.P. Gas for the last 38 years. David's hobby was consistent hard work. He took great joy in his work, and the L.P. Gas employees became his extended family.
Another of hobby of David's was music. He was a talented bass guitar player, and played in the World-Famous Country Cut-ups at the Saint Jo Opry for 22 years.
A caring member of the community, David served as President of the Starkey Cemetery Association and took great pride in the upkeep of the cemetery.
David is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Brenda Doshier, his sister Lois Gilbert and husband Mel of Saint Jo, sisters-in-law Bonnie Edes and Bertha Jones, father-in-law and mother-in-law Loyd and Monnie Morris of Bowie, nephews Todd Gilbert, Anthony Edes, and David Jones, Shon Ranton and nieces Julie Mayfield, and Heidi Blancarte, Cheryl Welsh, and Natalie Carter as well as many great nieces and great nephews and a host of other family and friends.
David's family has entrusted his final arrangements to Scott-Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 4:00PM in the funeral home chapel. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Sunday, November 12, at 2:00 PM at Nocona Church of Christ with Austin Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Starkey Cemetery.
