Clyde Dorsey West

Clyde West passed away peacefully at home in Bowie, Texas at the age of 71. Funeral Service will be held at Scott-Morris Funeral Home at 2pm, Thursday, May 4th, graveside service will follow after. Clyde was born on October 7, 1951 in Munster, Texas, he was the son of Burt and Cecile West. Clyde proceeded in death by his parents Burt and Cecile West, his wife Christine West, brother Teddy West , his sisters Francis Wood and Virginia Pugh. Clyde survived by his brothers Bobby West, James West, Don West, Russell West, Keith West, children Devonna Deardeuff, Delaine Martin, Daniel West, grand children, Steven Debord, Jesse Harris, Tyler Martin, and Christine Groves and several great grand children.

Clyde married the love of his life Christine Holloway on November 9, 1973 in Saint Jo, Texas where they lived and had their three children till 1989, then they moved to Bowie, Texas and finished out their lives raising his children and grandchildren with his Wife Christine West. He was a retired machinist at Poco Graphite in Decatur, Texas. Once he retired he helped his wife follow out her dream of owning her own furniture store, which was The Reusable Store and ran that till his beloved wife passed November 4th of 2011. Clyde was a family man. He spent his days and evenings taking care of his grandchildren and spending time with his great grandchildren. If you knew Clyde he spoke his mind no matter what, but he was a good honest man.
