Alton Murrel Brewer

Alton Murrel Brewer of Saint Jo, passed away on Sunday, May 31st, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. Alton was born October25, 1939 to Murry and Minnie Hyman Brewer in Bulcher, Texas. He worked as a blaster/driller in the rock crusher for 42 years as well as doing odd jobs to take care of his family. He was married to his wife Sue for 58 years and 11 months. Mr. Brewer was a hardworker, great dad and granddad who always provided for his family. He was a stubborn man and according to the family, you can talk to a Brewer but you can't make them listen!

Alton was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a grandson, L. J. Greenwood.

He is survived by his wife Sue, his daughter Melinda Greenwood and husband Leslie of Mabank, Texas, daughter Judy Sampson and husband John of Saint Jo, and son Steven Brewer and wife Stacy of Saint Jo. Mr. Brewer is leaving quite the legacy in his 14 grandchildren Richard Greenwood of Saint Jo, David Sampson of Gainesville, Donald Sampson of Nocona, Preson Brewer of Gainesville, Alie Brewer of Denton, Texas, Tristen Hill of Denton, Texas, Madison Brewer of Lone Gorve, OK, Kaden Brwere of Saint Jo, Justin Dugger of The Colony, Keelee Dugger Hacker of Rosston, Alley Crisswell of Nocona, Anna Crisswell Haile of Denton, Donocan Crabstree and McKaylee Crisswell as well as his 5 great grandchildrenSara Phillips of Post Oak, Brooklynn Gordon of Post Oak, William Sampson of Gainesville, Alexa Sampson of Nocona, and Aviahna Morales of Nocona. Also a very special friend of many years Linda Miller of Saint Jo.

The family will be receiving visitors on Sunday June 7, 2020 from 6-7 PM at Scott-Morris Funeral Home, we will be following social distancing guidelines. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God Church in Saint Jo with interment following at Coker Cemetery.

Mr. Brewer will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
